Servant Leadership Institute
Servant Leadership Institute (Sli)
The Servant Leadership Institute (Sli) of TCA is designed to develop leadership to skills within the lives of students from following the model of Jesus Christ-by living a life of service. Students will be expected to demonstrate a high level of commitment and accountability of their faith in Christ.
Service Opportunities
*GLASS-a mentoring and discipleship program. Juniors and Seniors will offer tutoring services and modeling to junior high students on a weekly basis; Sophomores and Freshmen will serve Elementary students. These mentors will also serve as guides for any new Secondary students.
*Jr D-Core Leader-Juniors and Senors will be allowed to lead a group of 7th grade students in discipleship Bible study. While groups will meet twice a month, the mentors will be expected to pray over their mentees and to find time to check in on them.
*Worship Band-this is a class offered for credit. The focus of the class is to teach students that true worship grows out of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Students will be carefully selected for this group, as they will have occasional opportunities to lead praise-and-worship in our chapel service.
*Student Council-this is a leadership organization that provides service for the school.

*Cheerleading-students who serve our school through promoting school spirit and by upholding high standards of excellence.
Process
1. Decide where you desire to serve and pick up a recommendation form.
2. Submit a pastoral and teacher recommendation to the Secondary office.
3. Sign SLi Covenant of Agreement
SLi will present a Servant Leadership Award each year to a Senior student who has most consistently demonstrated this ideal of service to others.

Attitude
Your attitude toward Servant Leadership Institute, its core principles and the overall mission is very important. The primary purpose of Servant Leadership Institute is to offer avenues for you to activate your faith by serving others. Your attitude should be one that is positive and constantly leaning towards putting the needs and the welfare of others before your own. Your speech, conduct, love, faith and purity are all components of becoming a positive influence and leader.
Belief
You should have a strong belief in Jesus Christ and have accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
Commitment
Your commitment level to SLi should be one of:
* Praying for the school and your classmates
* Having faithful attendance to your selected ministry
* Serving as a role model on and off campus
